Tech Recipe : Install Python Pandas on Fedora 23

I’ve just started to get my feet wet with development in Python 3. It was all going great until i needed to pip install pandas. That broke with weird errors.

With a little bit of guessing, googling and tea i managed to quell one error after another. With that done, here is a copy-paste solution to get Python 3 and Pandas installed on Fedora 23.

# This installs Python 3 and necessary deps for Pandas
sudo dnf install gcc-c++ python3 python3-devel redhat-rpm-config;

#Install pandas
sudo pip3 install pandas;

#Verify pandas is installed
python3 -c "help('pandas')"

That is all.

PS: If you don’t have a favourite Python IDE yet, I recommend PyCharm
